The EU Skills Abrasive Wheels scheme was developed with industry employers. The Abrasive Grinding and Cutting Equipment standard details the skills and underpinning knowledge required for the safe use of abrasive cutting and grinding equipment. The scheme provides standards which clearly define expectations in terms of the performance, knowledge and skills of individuals performing abrasive wheels activities.
Practical training ratios: The ratio for practical training sessions is a maximum of one trainer per six individuals (1:6). EUSR Abrasive Wheels programmes must be six (6) guided learning hours to adequately cover the standard and allow individuals to undertake the theory and practical training and assessment.
