Course Overview

EUSR FIRE MARSHAL / WARDEN

Groundforce Training now proudly offers the enhanced and more comprehensive Fire Marshal/Warden training under the new EUSR Fire Safety Awareness SCHEME.  This scheme is designed to ensure that learning outcomes contained within are in line with National Occupational Standards (NOS) and that candidates are receiving training at a higher assessment level than EUSR Endorsed Training Programmes (ETP’s).

This EU Skills scheme aims to provide candidates with the knowledge to become a Fire marshal / Fire Warden in the workplace.

Course Objectives

The course will present an understanding of fire regulations and general fire precautions. It aims to provide you with the knowledge to be become a fire marshal. Candidates will:

  • Understand fire regulations as well as the procedures to follow in the event of a fire
  • Recognise arson and its’ impacts
  • Identify the cost of fire damage
  • Discuss the importance of fire detection, warnings, fire prevention, and movement in smoke
  • Identify which elements need to exist for fire to occur and the different classes of fire
  • Outline general fire precautions, means of escape, importance of calling on the fire service and how to liaise on site
  • Define the role of the fire marshal and the three basic principles of fire extinction
  • Discuss the need for fire safety and how to implement measures to protect yourselves, colleagues and clients;
  • Recognise and identify firefighting equipment; including the different types of fire extinguishers and how to use them (optional practical session is available upon request)

Certification

  • EU Skills - EUSR SMART card with photo id, qualification stated on back of card 
  • EU Skills – EUSR Virtual Registration is available upon request in lieu of plastic SMART card
  • Electronic Groundforce Training certificate also provided via email
  • EUSR qualifications are valid for 3 years,
  • On or before your qualification(s) expiry date you’ll need to renew in order for qualification(s) to stay on the EU Skills register

Who Should Attend?

This theoretical course (with an optional practical session) is designed for individuals who have been designated as a fire marshal or fire warden and have specific duties towards fire prevention and evacuation.

Practical Exercise (Optional)

Groundforce Training can deliver practical extinguisher training as an optional add on to Fire Marshal / Warden courses, i.e. fire extinguisher discharge demonstrations. Please let us know if this is something you desire. The optional practical fire training will be carried out outside following a suitable risk assessment; therefore delegates are advised to bring suitable outdoor clothing and footwear.

Additional Information

The terms Fire Marshal and Fire Warden are two names with the same meaning. Which is used is often down to personal and/or organisational preference. In the UK, the responsibilities of a fire warden and a fire marshal are identical.
