Piletec extends its piling attachment range

Piletec’s new Excavator Mounted Vibrators (EMVs) will help contractors save time and reduce costs

Piletec, specialist supplier of piling and foundation equipment, can now offer its customers an even wider choice of piling attachments with the introduction of two new EMV’s that will help to reduce time and costs.

A division of Groundforce, Piletec has a strong reputation for introducing industry leading products including ones that have made significant contributions to site safety.

These latest new products include the E5FM, a robust, quality engineered piling hammer with a driving force of 20 tonnes and the E7FM a low frequency model and more powerful than other EMVs currently available in the UK.

The EMV, specifically designed as an attachment for excavators, is a cost efficient way of driving sheet piles and tubes. Mounted on the boom of a standard hydraulic excavator, the unit’s powerful vibrating action enables large sections of sheet pile to be driven into tough, cohesive ground with minimum effort and minimum disturbance to surrounding structures.

Bill Gorton, Piletec Director, comments about the range extension; “Our decision to increase the range to include more powerful EMVs was in response to our customers needing to drive longer sheets in stiff ground conditions. This can only be achieved by using larger 35-40 tonne excavators and therefore a more powerful EMV to accommodate the larger excavator. This combination of larger excavator and EMV can also save the contractor the cost of cranes and leader rigs, the traditional way to drive or extract longer sheet piles.”

The extended EMV range also includes a new Gooseneck Extension which is mounted on the jib of the excavator to extend the reach and height of the excavator. This attachment is ideally suited to drive longer piles in soft ground conditions.

The E5FM and E7FM are compatible with all of Piletec’s associated equipment including its VibroSafe quick hitch adapter, Pre Auger, trench sheets and Larssen sheet piles – up to 10m in length and any profile.
