Groundforce will once again be supporting this year’s Ground Engineering Basement & Underground conference, which take place at London’s Olympia on the 6th & 7th October, as sponsors of the Temporary Works Seminar.
This is the fifth year in a row that Groundforce have been involved in the event. As well as sponsoring the pre-conference workshop session, Groundforce will also be taking an active role, with Tony Gould, Technical Director for Groundforce and Steven Lloyd, Senior Development Engineer presenting a case study on the design methodology of long span cross struts to Eurocodes. This will be followed by a group discussion on how the industry can ensure greater emphasis on temporary works and earlier engagement in the design phase.
Tony Gould, said:
This year we are especially proud to be sponsoring and presenting at this event which will focus specifically on temporary works, something Groundforce continues to lead the way in, when it comes to innovative technology and creating below ground propping solutions.
Chairing the afternoon seminar will be Tim Lohmann, director, Wentworth House Partnership and a director of the Temporary Works Forumn (TWf). A range of subjects will be covered including, looking at issues such as the importance of the TWf’s role in ensuring good practice and innovation in the sector, as well as contributing to the latest developments in standards and providing guidance for all aspects of temporary works.
The importance of good temporary works has long been underestimated. However the formation of the industry recognized Temporary Works Forum (TWf) has ensured that much greater emphasis is given to promoting this sector of the industry. A host of new documents, guidance notes and standards have been produced as a result. The seminar sets out to communicate the latest developments so as to share best practice to improve future design and delivery.
