Renowned for leading the way when it comes to new and innovative ideas within the ground engineering sector, Groundforce has introduced another ’first’ with the launch of a series of innovative engineering discussion videos aimed at showcasing its commitment to knowledge sharing throughout the industry.
The “Back to the Drawing Board” series of short videos have been introduced as a new ‘easy to understand’ approach to communicating a wide and diverse range of topics relating to excavation support. The videos will be available to view on the company’s website, and on the Groundforce YouTube channel.
The videos have been created in conjunction with Groundforce’s Technical Director Tony Gould and will be presented by Development Manager Steven Lloyd, who has also presented technical seminars at the Basement and Underground Conference in 2015 and more recently at the ICE Engineering Underground Space 2016 Conference.
Each monthly video will discuss engineering topics ranging from practical application, to completely theoretical thinking and everything in between. The videos are aimed to generate communication and discussion about all topics relevant to the ground engineering sector such as health and safety factors and BIM for temporary works, as well as being a primer for some of the more specialist technical subjects.
The first, on hydraulic propping design to Eurocodes , will be typical in content in tackling a tricky issue not covered directly by standard documentation and guidance.
Tony Gould, Technical Director for Groundforce said:
“We are continually looking at new ways to communicate our engineering capability and knowledge in a contemporary and novel style.. We hope this series of videos will open up in-depth discussion on a platform which is easily accessible and available when the audience chooses."
