Thanks to a successful fundraising effort and a charitable donation from Groundforce, Team GB's Rifle Team will be able to travel to the 2019 World Championships.
The Great Britain U25 Rifle Team were struggling to overcome financial challenges just in order to continue competing following sweeping funding cuts from various bodies. This meant the chance of maintaining their title at the next World Championship Games in New Zealand was hanging in the balance, but thanks to a crowdfunding campaign they are now able to compete.
Target rifle shooting is an amateur sport that uses sights with no magnification to aim at targets ranging from 300 to 1000 yards: this requires immense concentration and unrelenting practice to stay ahead of the game, especially when you consider the GB team will be up against major contenders such as the USA, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa.
Having to juggle the demands of work and study, while following a rigorous training routine, is a true indicator of the dedication and effort they are putting in and Groundforce wish them well in their quest to bring home the gold once again.
