Our Trainers
Building on our excellent reputation throughout the construction and civil engineering sectors for delivering high standard courses, Groundforce Training have now made available a new portfolio of EUSR accredited utility courses that deliver both a practical, hands-on approach combined with classroom based learning. These fresh new utilities courses are presented by a team of trainers with decades of knowledge amassed by first-hand experience within the industry. Let’s take a quick look at one of our team members:
Michael and Ian are part of our winning training team bringing almost 60 years of experience working in the utilities sector between them. They have contributed to numerous sites and projects across the water, gas and telecoms sectors as well as engaging with large scale civils projects. Their experience in the workplace means our training approach covers practical real-world scenarios that are aimed at meeting industry standards while addressing the unique challenges workers face on a daily basis.
Professional ‘in-house’ trainers
We want our candidates to have a positive learning journey with us and feel confident in using their newly acquired utility based skills back in the workplace. We believe that by using our own passionate team of in-house experts, rather than outsourcing to other training providers, instils that confidence and brings a sense of achievement for both groups and individual learners.
Fresh new courses available
A uniform approach to environmental and safety matters within the utilities sector is an important issue affecting all working on operational sites. An effective way to achieve this consistency is by attending one of our Safety Health and Awareness (SHEA) suite of courses, including SHEA Core, for general safety across industries, and SHEA Water Gas & Power for a more utilities centred certification. Also included in our portfolio is the EUSR National Water Hygiene course, designed to ensure that individuals working on clean water sites meet the necessary hygiene standards to protect public health. This essential course provides the knowledge required to operate safely in environments where maintaining water quality is critical.
Delivered by Groundforce Training’s advanced training instructors, our EUSR courses provide a solid foundation for those operating in more specialist areas of work. For example, our Moling, Welding & Coil Trailer Awareness courses equip candidates with everything they need to complete essential tasks safely by using best industry practice.
Also available is the EUSR Hydrostatic Pressure Testing Course, helping those in utilities to maintain pipeline infrastructure by performing pressure testing, identifying leaks and working diligently to ward off costly failures. Of course any excavation work comes with some risk, but a great way of avoiding unnecessary damage is by adopting underground services detection techniques. Our EUSR Category 1 & 2 Combined Courses covers all aspects pertaining to underground services, including how to use cable location devices such as a Cat & Genny.
An award winning training provider
A winning place at the Energy and Utilities Skills Awards verified the commitment Groundforce Training have in fully supporting the sector. The award for the Water Industry Training Organisation of the Year recognised Groundforce Training for their progressive and consistent approach in the water and waste water industries, an approach which has cultivated a high level of respect among those in the industry.
This national accolade exemplified the passionate and pro-active way in which the training provider worked with top contractors such as M&S Water Services (Utilities), J Murphy and Sons and Clancy Docwra.
