Groundforce Bids a Fond Farewell to Richard Cherrie after 44 years’ Service

31 Oct

It is with mixed emotions that we say goodbye to Richard Cherrie as he prepares to enter retirement: Richard began his journey with us way back in the Vibroplant days as Field Sales Manager and then Regional Manager before being appointed to his current role as Regional Director (Scotland), a position he has held for over 33 years.

It goes without saying that Richard has made a huge contribution over the last 44 years, not just to Groundforce but to the shoring industry as a whole and his legacy will continue to endure in what truly signifies the end of an era.

Those who have worked with Richard will testify to the drive and determination he brought to the company, but above all his qualities as a man who was good to be around and always willing to give the credit to those he worked with.

Richard intends to begin this new period by embracing his love of travelling and music with trips already being planned: we hope his well-earned retirement will give him more time to pursue these interests at his leisure.

All of us at Groundforce wish him a very long and happy retirement.

“I'm filled with gratitude as I reflect on my four decades of service, for the incredible teams I've worked with, both past and present and the opportunities I've had. I will remain immensely proud to be able to say “I was part of Groundforce”. I have met so many talented and inspirational colleagues along the way from the many who supported and guided me and those who provided good counsel.

As I begin this new chapter, I'll cherish the memories made at Groundforce “Thank you for your support and comradery, but most of all for making Groundforce Division such a great place to work." - Richard
