Piling - Getting it Right

In the ever-evolving world of construction, one company that stands out for its bright initiatives in foundation and groundworks equipment is Piletec. More than just a supplier of piling equipment, Piletec is an industry innovator with a focus on safety, sustainability and customer satisfaction. A commitment to rigorous plant investment and a willingness to supply supplementary equipment, has made Piletec the preferred choice for many in the construction and shoring sectors.

Premium, well-maintained equipment

Piletec source newly-manufactured equipment through high-end manufacturers both within Europe and the UK. This ensures that all legislation regarding safety and conformance is current to ensure a high level of reliability for customers. In order to uphold these high standards, a rigorous programme of preventative maintenance is implemented so that piling equipment such as EMVs are always kept in pristine condition.

Building-on and developing skills

Piletec’s team of Service Engineers and Field Service Engineers have gained experience working on piling projects throughout the UK, Ireland and overseas. Maintaining piling hammers is quite a niche subject and Engineers become specialists in this area. As well as being up-to-date with the latest equipment and safety regulations, the team are encouraged to take a positive approach by identifying and highlighting new training opportunities as the need arises.

Training and qualifications

Piletec believe their fleet of piling hammers and allied equipment such Culvert Pullers and VibroSafe Quick Hitch Adaptors are best maintained by their own people. To facilitate this, the company has a policy of recruiting a regular influx of new apprentices. This means that new trainees are able to get ‘hands-on’ with the equipment from the very outset, working alongside experienced operators who pass on their expertise gained over many years on the job. Apprentices gain a Level 3 qualification in Plant Maintenance and quickly become a valued member of the team as their knowledge base and skills develop.

Providing ground-breaking new equipment

In response to customer feedback, Piletec are pleased to announce their three most recent offerings to the piling industry:

Side Grip Piling Hammer: A game changer in pile installation: the Excavator Mounted Side Grip Piling Hammer is unique in that it can lift the pile from a stack and then hold and drive the pile from the side profile.

A major benefit comes from being able to install piles that are much longer than the excavator boom, meaning the customer can typically use their own machine. The Side Grip Hammer also benefits from 360 degree articulation to give outstanding pile driving performance.

Impact Hammer: Piletec has introduced a new Excavator Mounted Impact Hammer which is used for installing sheet piles and steel tubes. It is fitted with a Tilt/Rotator and Quick Hitch Adapter for optimum manoeuvrability.

The hammer can be operated directly from within the excavator via a control panel which calculates the precise matching of energy required to suit the pile driving requirements. When used together, the Side Grip Hammer and Impact Hammer can install sheet piles up to 16 metres long!

Piletec Vibration Monitor: Simply the most efficient and high-quality vibration monitoring system on the market. The auto-axis alignment feature means the unit can be mounted on almost any surface at any angle and sends accurate measurements wirelessly to an online platform.

The Piletec Vibration Monitor provides instantly produced PDF, CSV and Excel reports of measured data that can be scheduled to send via email either daily or weekly.
